Throughout life everyone has their own journey that they are going to take. Some journeys are goal oriented such as a search for adventure, recognition or riches. Sometimes the journey is to get away and to understand more of what the world has to offer. We all take journeys of self-discovery from childhood to adulthood that reveals our experiences which has shaped us. However, the journey is not always an easy road to take ¬ but it is worth taking. When people go through their journey they may experience internal struggles, anxiety from making decisions, loneliness and reflect on their choices. Robert Frost’s poems, â€Å"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening†, â€Å"The Road Not Taken†, â€Å"Acquainted with the Night† and â€Å"The Gift Outright† are all†¦show more content†¦The road can be tough and it may take a long time before you get to where you want to be in life. In his fourth poem, â€Å"The Gift Outright† described Amer ica’s history and the connection between the individuals and their land. Frost describes that while the settlers in Massachusetts and Virginia were still apart of England, they still possessed the land. Although life’s journeys may be difficult, Frost shows that by taking time to look around you, following your own dreams and continuing to push through makes the journey all worth it in the end. The cluster of Robert Frost’s poems can be interpreted in many different ways. I think that the cluster of poems is similar in the fact that their mood portrays loneliness and nostalgia. For example, in â€Å"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening†, the speaker stops his horse in the woods during one of the darkest times of the year. With the woods being cold, dark and quiet, the speaker takes advantage of the beauty that he is surrounded by. â€Å"The only other sound’s the sweep of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep† (Schil b, 1300). He prefers silently watching the snow fall in the dark woods, but he knows that he has responsibilities that he has to get back to. This similar mood can also be seen in, â€Å"The Road Not Taken†.
